The African Grey

Athena
Athena is a Congo African Grey. The African Grey is one of the most prolific talkers in the parrot kingdom. Athena does talk, but she is very shy. She is an amazing whistler and mimic, copying several sounds she hears in our home, from the microwave, to the dogs in the neighborhood! She is very much the princess in the house, and will climb off of her cage to come sit with me every evening.

Zaria
The Macaws

Mirabella
Zaria and Mirabella are both rescues. Zaria is a Green-Wing Macaw, also known as the Red and Green Macaw. This is one of the largest macaw species. She is a younger macaw and is very sweet and playful. Mirabella is a Blue and Gold Macaw. She is in her middle aged years, as these exotic species can live to be around 100 years old! These two love to eat nuts, with Zaria's favorite being walnuts, and Mirabella loving almonds the best!
The Parrotlett

Geoffrey
Geoffrey is the smallest parrot in the 91Feathers flock. The parrotlett is nicknamed the "pocket parrot" as it is small enough to fit into a man's shirt pocket. Geoffrey may be tiny, but he is full of personality! His favorite thing to do is cuddle up in your hair and take a nap!

The Conures
Mango

Yofi
Conures are as feisty as they are loveable and sweet, and these two are no different! Mango is a sun conure, and he loves to play hide and seek in your hair! His favorite treat is apples.

Yofi is a Green Cheek Conure. I call Yofi my "handicapped" bird, as she has a condition called splayed legs. Her legs developed crookedly, which prevents her from walking and standing correctly. She would not survive in the wild, and I have to keep modified perches in her cage so that she can be comfortable. But she does much more than I was ever told she would do! God never makes mistakes!
The Dove

Oliver
Oliver is a white, ring-neck dove. He is a rescue, and his age is unknown. When he was rescued originally, he was in overcrowded conditions and the other birds were plucking the feathers from his neck. The follicles are scarred and the feathers will never grow back. Oliver is super gentle, never bites, and is the perfect bird for very young children or those scared to hold the other birds.

The Eclectus Parrots
Bob

Paisley
Bob and Paisley are our Eclectus Parrots. Due to their bright colors and gentle personalities, these two are some of 91Feathers favorite birds! Bob has feather loss, due to neglect from his previous owner. We are always working to regrow his feathers and it is a two-step forward, one-step back process. Bob is a talker, and his favorite word is "Wow!" Paisley is much younger, and she is still learning to talk, however she does say, "Hi Bob!" She grumbles a lot, and it is unclear what she is trying to say at that point.

Eclectus Parrots are one of the few parrot species that you can tell male and female apart by simply looking at them. Males are always green and females are always red.
The Double Yellow-Crested Amazon

Chrissy
Chrissy is an amazing bird. She isn't very social or friendly, but I take her with me because she is so vocal and amusing. I just remind people not to get too close to her. Chrissy loves to yell for "mama" (me!), and she reminds me every day that she is a "good girl." I also say that she is a comedian because she loves to tell herself jokes that only she can understand, and then she laughs at them. When she is really happy, she sings opera.
